Teresa Hughes is a dedicated mental health counselor in training who brings warmth, authenticity, and deep empathy to her work with clients. Teresa draws from her rich personal experiences and diverse training to offer a trauma-informed, relational, and holistic approach to therapy.
As a transracial/transnational adoptee and Latina woman, Teresa brings a deep understanding of the nuances of identity, culture, and belonging. She is passionate about helping clients reconnect with their authentic selves, process life’s challenges, and build compassionate relationships—with themselves and others.
Teresa is a pre-licensed counselor currently pursuing her graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Saybrook University.

Teresa works with clients across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, and adults, as well as couples and families. She has a special heart for serving adoptees, BIPOC communities, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and clients navigating intersectional identities.

When she’s not seeing clients or studying, Teresa is an avid mountain biker who enjoys enduro and downhill riding. She also loves yoga, hiking, water sports, playing soccer, and caring for animals. Her passion for movement and nature informs her belief in the healing power of mind-body connection.

Payment Options

Teresa can only accept Medicaid insurance plans including Community Health Plan of Washington, Molina, and Coordinated Care. She cannot accept any commercial insurance plans. The cash rate for pre-licensed counselors is $110 per session. HSA/ FSA cards can also be used for payment.
