Understanding Our Services 

We provide mental health counseling and Behavioral Health Integration (BHI) services for workers compensation clients in Washington. If you’re struggling, don’t wait reach out today. We are here to help you navigate your healing journey with the support and guidance you need.

Behavioral Health Intervention (BHI) Services

● Limited Sessions: The BHI program provides short-term, solution-based counseling to address recovery barriers and to support your return to work.
● Attending Physician Referral Only: Your attending physician’s referral is required, but prior authorization from the L&I Claim Manager is not needed for the initial 16 sessions. 8 additional sessions can now be requested if needed but the additional sessions require approval from the claim manager.
● Eligibility: This program is suitable for anyone who does not have or is not contending a mental health diagnosis related to their injury. Clients with or contending mental health diagnosis should go through Mental Health Services and not the BHI program.

Mental Health Services

● For clients with an Accepted Mental Health Condition: Your attending physician needs to submit a referral to the L&I Claim Manager for prior authorization.
● For clients contending a Mental Health Condition that has not been accepted on the claim: you may be required to go through a mental health assessment with an L&I psychiatrist or psychologist and go through utilization review first before they will make a referral for mental health services. Note: Masters level counselors can treat but cannot diagnose or make referrals on L&I claims.
● Authorization Needed: We must receive an authorization letter from your L&I Claim Manager before we can start treatment for L&I Mental Health services. If you need assistance, feel free to reach out to us.
