Hi there! I am a neuro-informed counselor with over 15 years of experience working with individuals of all ages. I primarily work with injured workers but I also have a wide range of experience working with childhood trauma, injury, illness, ADHD, anxiety disorders, OCD, depression and mood disorders, as well as more complex mental health needs.
Currently, my practice is focused primarily on working with injured workers. I understand the unique challenges that come with injury recovery and navigating the associated system, and I’m committed to providing the support my clients need during this difficult time.
My journey into working with injured workers began after I experienced a work related injury myself and had to navigate the complexities of the LNI system. The stress and confusion I faced during that time sparked my passion to help others going through similar challenges. With years of both personal and professional experience on both sides of the system, I’m deeply familiar with the ins and outs of LNI. This experience drives me to help my clients not only manage the impact of their injuries but also effectively navigate the system and address their mental health needs.
Before diving into private practice in 2021, I started my career in 2010 as a financial counselor for youth transitioning out of the foster care system. Over time, I became a provider for DSHS, working with children, youth, and families involved in the foster care system. I also gained experience in a psychiatric hospital and a community-based mental health program, where I worked with geriatric clients with long histories of psychiatric hospitalization, chronic injury and illness, and complex mental health challenges. In these roles, I provided counseling, case management, and behavioral therapy to clients and their families, helping to stabilize them in their homes and avoid unnecessary hospitalization.
In my private practice, I continue to draw on my diverse experience to guide my clients through the challenges they face, especially when it comes to navigating LNI and managing the psychological effects of injury.
My approach to counseling is collaborative. We will meet to discuss initial issues and concerns, set some goals and come up with a treatment plan that works for you. I use a combination of neuro-education with traditional evidenced based counseling approaches.
Outside of counseling work, I enjoy going for walks, traveling, outdoor activities, spending time with my family, or attending church activities. I can provide spiritual insight to those who are looking for a faith based approach.
